Security is of utmost importance to us, so thanks for the suggestion Donnet. We've recently added PIN functionality to the app, which means that you have to set a PIN and use that PIN every time that you make a payment through the app.

Does that offer enough security around making actual payments in the app, or is your suggestion more around making sure that only you can access the app on your mobile?

Yes, my suggestion is linked directly to opening the app, making sure that the owner of the phone is the only one who can access the info in the app - not to payments made within the app.

    Hi Donnet
We frequently have to balance features for people between convenience and security. These are some of the issues we take in account when making a decision.

    1. Not all Android phones have fingerprint recognition (which is way more convenient than remembering passwords)
    2. People already have passwords in order to open their phone
    3. Adding another password for every time you quickly want to add a transaction on the go is cumbersome
    4. One of KIN's values, is all about transparency between friends

This doesn't mean we won't support a feature, it only means certain features get prioritised. Fingerprint support is actually on the board for future build.

Hi there. I'd really like to see something like a PIN being necessary when the app is opened. I've got a Gmail account that is synced to multiple devices but I don't want the other devices to be able to just make payments!

    Hi Brendan,

    Thanks for sharing your feedback.

Just to confirm, when you make a payment through the Kin app, you need to enter your CVV number every time and go through your bank's 3D secure process. This is to ensure that only you can ever make a payment through the Kin app.

Does that help in your situation?

Wow, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Yes, it definitely makes me feel more secure. But I still think the option to have PIN protection associated with an account would be nice so the other devices can't change the expenses or something. Thanks again!

Totally understandable Brenden. I'll most definitely share your request with the team :)

Feel free to share any other thoughts or ideas for the app. We're taking notes!

    Hi again Brenden,

One more bit of feedback regarding payments :) In order to make a payment through the app, you're required to enter a 4 digit PIN number, which adds an additional layer of security for you.

    Hi André

Apologies, I had only just started playing around with the app when I stumbled on this thread.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely play around a bit more before submitting anything else!
